Advanced Cellular is putting on a very special Least Dangerous Game at Grand Old Day this coming Sunday, June 3rd!
There will be huge prizes given out, including home theater systems and the like. Yeah, home theater systems.
Things will be run a little differently this Sunday. First of all, it’s on Sunday. Got it? Good.
Secondly, you’ll know where I am. Sort of. There will be three legs of this hunt. You’ll start at the Advanced Cellular booth, located on St. Albans and Grand. From there you will take off to find me and then get back to the booth.
The best times for each leg will get a prize, and the person with the best time in all three legs combined will win the grand prize, which is being determined.
And thirdly, since this is a real event with real prizes, Twitter is taking a break. You’ll need to sign up at the booth with your cell number so you can be texted the clues directly. So it won’t matter if Twitter is down or not! Hooray!
So get to the Advanced Cellular booth before noon on Sunday so you can sign up! You know, if you like prizes and all.

With many people out of town for the long weekend, I wasn’t sure how well Least Dangerous Game would got. As it turned out, I had nothing to worry about.
It was another beautiful Saturday, despite what our local weather personalities tried to tell us. A perfect day to hide inside at the Brave New Workshop! The Brave New Workshop was kind and generous enough to put forth the hiding spot and prizes for the Memorial Day weekend hunt. Let’s get down to the clues that brought the winners to me.
West of the Mississippi.
Yes yes. Not much of a clue. Sadly, I was found too early for my “first espresso machine West of the Mississippi” clue. That’s right. Founder Dudley Riggs brought the first espresso maker to his cafe west of the mighty river.
Bob Dylan has a lifetime ban.
It’s true! Bob Dylan was drunk and belligerent at a production once, and had to be removed from the theater. Take that, son of Minnesota! Host to many funerals.
Host to many funerals.
The Hennepin theater was once home to Flanagan’s Wake before it moved to its home at the St. Paul Palace theater. Poor Flanagan died over and over and over. So many funerals.
Over 250 original products.
The Brave New Workshop has put on over 250 original products. They do a fine job of topical satire, and you are missing out if you have never been.
Came home in 2002.
After much market analysis, it was concluded the the Brave New Workshop would be better suited to the surroundings of Calhoun Square. A new theater was built and renovated, and opened to mild success. In 2002, the Workshop moved back to its current location. The old new theater is now inhabited by ComedySport.
COX
Just simple code. The Brave New Workshop, or BNW, is one letter away from COX. Take every letter down a step in the alphabet and you’ll see BNW.
A City Pages best of 2007.
Who received the City Pages honor of Best Theater for Comedy? I’ll give you one guess!
Vapor herbs we know
An anagram. Get used to them!
Founded by a circus performer.
Founder Dudley Riggs was actually an acrobatic performer in the circus with his family! He took a bad spill, putting him in traction. As he lay in the hospital, the show had to go on and his family continued on. At that point, he decided maybe the circus wasn’t the place for him. And that’s how it started.
Derived from Aldus Huxley title.
The Brave New Workshop title was taken from the Aldus Huxley book Brave New World.
And that was enough information to bring Aaron Landry and his friend…Brian(?)…to my location! They each received tickets to the Brave New Workshop as a prize!
Arriving just seconds later was Ryan! Really, it was just second. Aldus Huxley led everyone right to me.
But with the winners in place, there was another surprise! The Brave New Workshop was kind enough to offer 50% off tickets to anyone else who showed up after the winner!
So I waited.
And waited.
And waited.
And at 4pm, I left. Because no one else showed. Huh. Oh well. At least I was found! And by three people! It’s almost a record!

It’s a big long weekend, boys and girls, and that calls for a big long prize. Or just a big prize. It’s not the length of the prize that matters, after all.
The winner of this week’s Least Dangerous Game gets a sur-prize worth fifty big ones. Actually, just fifty regular sized dollar bills. Not that there are any bills involved. It’s a sur-prize, after all.
Not only will the winner win, but the losers win too! Everyone who shows up after the winner will be rewarded as well thanks to this week’s sponsor. Who is the sponsor? That would give away the game. You’ll find out. Don’t worry.
And now, what am I wearing today?
That’s right. It is a monkey milking a cow. As you should be well aware, “the monkey represents sharing.” It comes from an awesome online comic called Wigu drawn by Jeffry Rowland.
So now you know how I’m dressed and what is at stake, sort of. The noon hour is almost here. Get a little lunch in your belly and get ready to hunt!

You should know, by now, that there is a Least Dangerous Game this Saturday the 26th. And you probably know that the sponsored sur-prize is a $50 value. But did you know that everyone who finds me, not just the winner, will benefit?
That’s right. There will be a $50 prize for the winner, but also a bonus for everyone who shows up after the winner. So don’t sit at home this Saturday and play along. Get out, get a bonus, and meet some of your fellow players! And me too. I’ll be there. Where? Well, that’s the trick, isn’t it?
Also, stay tuned for information on the following weekend’s special Grand Old Day version of Least Dangerous Game. Or just watch your RSS feed. Staying tuned has gone out of fashion, and I want you to be fashionable.

Least Dangerous Game will be in Las Vegas! Well, sort of. Twitterer Lindsi Gish will be running a Twitter based treasure hunt at Interpod for Vibrant Technologies. If you’re in Vegas tomorrow, May 23rd, make sure to check it out by subscribing to the Twitter feed. Good luck, Lindsi!
