What I’m Wearing - September 22nd Edition

September 22nd, 2007

It is the very last day of summer! What better way to celebrate the equinox than to hide from people?

But how do you recognize me? Who would have guessed that I’m wearing another Threadless t-shirt today? Cast your eyes upon the picture below.

It Makes Toast

It’s a toast making machine, and it’s adorable. Probably.

The winner today gets a set of books from local hilarious man, James Lileks.

Are you ready to find what I have to show? No, that’s creepy. Ummm, are you ready to look around and figure out clues? No, that’s not eloquent. Whatever. I’m hiding at noon, so get ready.

Daily Suggestion: Fountains of Youth

September 13th, 2007

Loring Park FountainSummer is coming to a close and many things will change around the Twin Cities. Temperatures, leaves, clothing, and fountains. Soon the fountains will need to be turned off and cleaned for winter. Why not enjoy the fountains while they are still able to function as intended?

Loring Park has a rather unique fountain. Not to mention that the Spoonbridge and Cherry, which sits across 94. Are there any postcards for Minneapolis that don’t include that thing?

As long as you’re in Minneapolis, bring a book down to Peavey Plaza and take in the flowing combination of cement and water.

While you’re looking at all of these fountains around the Twin Cities, ask yourself why we keep building them. If you figure out an answer, let me know because I’m a bit baffled. Thanks!

Daily Suggestion: Hot Chocolate Exploration

September 12th, 2007

Hot ChocolateThe Twin Cities (I don’t have the time to say Minneapolis/St. Paul, live with it) is full of new experiences for everyone to take part in. While it is easy to go home and watch the Power of 10 suck your life away, there are plenty of things to do for those who want to look.

So every day, hopefully, I’ll think of some new or borrowed way to enjoy yourself out in the Twin Cities. So what should you today?

Why, go on a hot chocolate hunt, of course! The air is crisp and the sidewalks are snow free. It is perfect weather to go searching for hot chocolate!

Stop by El Burrito Mercado for some cinnamon heavy Mexican hot chocolate.

An obvious yet delicious choice would be hot chocolate at Caffe Latte.

If you want to remember the late 90s, head on over the Tillie’s Bean, which can be found on Google by searching for “internet cafe twin cities.” Remember internet cafes?

Where is your favorite hot chocolate in the Twin Cities? Let us know, so we can all enjoy that warm feeling inside on a cool fall day!

Concrete and Grass - Wrap-Up

September 11th, 2007

Sure sure, I wasn’t found this week. And you could chalk that up on the big tally board as a failure. But you know what? I ended up at the first Concrete and Grass Music Festival. This is an outdoor concert that I wouldn’t have known about or looked for if it weren’t for Least Dangerous Game. And it was a great time.

Concrete and Grass

The first band up was the Como Ave Jug Band, which is exactly what it sounds like. There was a jug player, tap dancing percussion, a washboard, fiddle, mandolin, oil drum base, and more. It was a great time, and well worth the free admission.

The twangy Front Porch Swingin’ Liquor Pigs came on next with a solid performance. They kept things moving with some Billy Joe Royal and White Stripes songs.

Next up was the full voiced and out of tune Total Praise Gospel Choir which was, well, out of tune and hard to listen to. Which was a shame.

And the people there! Old MPR listeners mixed with the fellow who decided that coveralls do exactly as advertised so he didn’t see the need to wear a t-shirt.

I could go through the clues that would have led people to me, but no one was led to me. The clues weren’t the most complex I’ve had, so it seems that no one was playing.

Which is a shame, because the festival was a great time. I’ll have to go and use this $20 Target gift card prize myself. Oh well.

Is anybody out there? Sound off in the comments if you are. We’ll do this again in two weeks.

What I’m Wearing - September 8th Edition

September 8th, 2007

Clues, clues, and more clues. That’s the order of the day for Least Dangerous Game. After a lovely day at the State Fair two weeks ago, it is time to get back to business. Clues to my hiding spot will be going out at noon today. They will be updated every 15 to 30 minutes.

How will you recognize me, you say? How will you feel strong and confident when approaching as the winner? I’ll be wearing another Threadless t-shirt today. Cast your eyes upon the picture below.

Gasp

“Gasp!” I’m in a silent picture!

Last game’s $20 Target gift card was not claimed. It goes to this week’s winner.

Get yourselves ready. Did you carbo-load last night? The game starts at noon!
